allwhere uses a standardized physical grading process to evaluate the cosmetic condition of devices at intake. Each asset receives a grade (S through D) based on visible wear and damage. Devices graded C or D include photo documentation in your inventory portal. This process ensures accurate records and supports informed decisions for repair, redeployment, or resale.
Overview
When you ship assets to an allwhere storage facility, they undergo an intake process that includes a cosmetic condition assessment. During this assessment, we document any visible wear, damage, or defects on each device. This standardized evaluation ensures your inventory records accurately reflect the condition of each asset upon arrival.
How It Works
Visual Inspection: Each device is inspected by specialists, evaluating the exterior casing, screen, keyboard, ports, and structural integrity.
Photo Documentation: Devices graded as C (Good) or D (Fair) receive photo documentation, which is uploaded directly to your inventory portal for full visibility.
Grading Scale
| Grade | Definition | Photos provided? |
|---|---|---|
| S - Brand new, sealed | Brand new; Factory sealed in original packaging with no signs of use, handling, or cosmetic wear. | No |
| A - Like new | Like new; No visible cosmetic damage. | No |
| B - Very good | Light/Normal wear and tear; consistent with normal use. | No |
| C - Good | Excessive wear and tear; clearly visible but doesn't prevent normal operation. | Yes |
| D - Fair | Damaged; Significant cosmetic damage or missing/non-functional external components. | Yes |
Important Notes
- Physical grading reflects cosmetic condition at the time of intake only
- Grading does not represent device age, internal hardware health, or performance capability
- Devices that fail diagnostics are tracked separately under Device Functionality Testing
- All grading results remain accessible in your inventory portal for full lifecycle visibility and audit support
