You’ll need to turn off Activation Lock (also known as Apple ID or iCloud lock) before sending your device to allwhere. This security feature links your device to your Apple ID. We can't remove Activation Lock for you, so please follow the steps below to ensure your device is ready for return.
What is Activation Lock?
Activation Lock keeps your device secure by requiring your Apple ID and password to unlock, erase, or set it up. You might know it as “Apple ID lock” or “iCloud lock.” If it’s active, we cannot process your device, but we’re here to guide you through turning it off.
How Do I Turn Off Activation Lock?
Follow these simple steps to remove the lock:
Open System Settings
- Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen.
- Select System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS versions).
Access Apple ID
In the System Settings sidebar, click your Apple ID at the top (usually displaying your name and photo).
If using System Preferences, click Apple ID in the top-right corner of the window.
Sign Out of iCloud
Scroll to the iCloud section within the Apple ID settings.
At the bottom of the Apple ID settings, select Sign Out. You may need to enter your Apple ID password to confirm.
Additional Notes:
- Find My Device: Turning off Activation Lock requires disabling Find My (Mac, iPhone, iPad, etc.). Signing out of iCloud typically does this automatically, but you can confirm in the iCloud settings.
- Other Devices: For iPhones, iPads, or other Apple devices, go to Settings > [Your Name] > Sign Out, and follow prompts to disable Find My and sign out of iCloud.
