Social Sign-On Using Google or Microsoft
12/04/24
We’re excited to introduce social SSO (Single Sign-On) for Allwhere users! Here's how it works:
- Enabling Social SSO: Existing users can now enable social SSO to log in using Google or Microsoft.
- New Login Screen: All users will see a new login screen with the option to continue with Google or Microsoft.
Steps to Log In Using Social SSO:
- Select the social account you’d like to log in with (Google or Microsoft).
- If the selected account exists in Allwhere, you’ll be prompted to confirm by entering your Allwhere password.
- Once confirmed, you’ll be logged into Allwhere!
Future Login Options:
You can continue to log in using your Allwhere username/password or choose the Social SSO option.
Important Notes:
- A new Allwhere account cannot be created through the social login flow.
- New Allwhere accounts must still be set up by Allwhere administrators, and new users must be added through the invite user flow.
Invite User Flow Updates
We’ve made improvements to the invite user process for a smoother onboarding experience:
Admin Invites:
When a new admin is invited to Allwhere, their invite will specify if they should use a password or a social SSO sign-on link.Enhanced Manage Users Table:
The updated user management table now displays:- Login method (email/password or social SSO)
- User status
- Options to resend an invite or revoke access
Additional Note:
If you select email/password as the login method, the user can later choose to log out and switch to Google/Microsoft SSO if preferred.
